Before our wedding in France, we eloped in Cydney’s hometown of San Francisco.

We just couldn’t wait! But also, when you plan an international, destination wedding it turns out there are different laws to consider when getting married. We weren’t going to spend 8 months in France in order to be legally married there (but wouldn’t that be a dream?) and instead chose to elope exactly one year before in the states.

But why San Francisco? Well, that part is easy. I never dreamed of a big wedding (that’s right, you can thank Mike for wanting his star moment!) and instead always just wanted to run away to the courthouse—specifically the San Francisco courthouse. So we decided to invite our parents, our dogs, and a wonderful photographer to witness and capture our original “I do’s” followed by a delicious meal at a Filipino fusion restaurant, Good Good Culture Club.

We feel so lucky that our love story gets to include both of our dream weddings!
